Fanvue payouts, fees and the referral programme: a reference
This is a lookup page. Every figure comes from Fanvue's own terms and carries the date we last read them, because platform economics in this niche get repeated third-hand until they quietly stop being true.
Commission
- Platform commission
- 20% of creator earnings, described as applying across monthly subscriptions, tips, one-time payments and content sold behind a paywall.
- What that leaves you
- 80% of gross, before payout, currency and chargeback effects. See the take-rate comparison for how to calculate your real net rate from a payout statement rather than from this percentage.
- Conflicting reports
- Some 2026 comparison articles claim a lower introductory rate. We have not been able to substantiate that against Fanvue's published creator terms. Model on 20%.
Payouts
- Holding period
- Earnings are described as processed after 28 days, with no added fee on the payout itself.
- Cash-flow consequence
- Your first month of real revenue does not become spendable money in that month. If you are funding paid traffic or chat labour out of revenue, that gap is the thing most likely to hurt you, and it hurts precisely when the account starts working.
- Who gets paid
- The verified human account holder. For an AI creator account the persona is synthetic but the payee is not, which is why identity verification is mandatory during setup.
Creator referral programme
This is the mechanism that makes publishing about this niche economically viable, and it is much better structured than a typical software affiliate deal.
| Term | Value | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Commission | 5% | Of the referred creator's earnings, not of a one-off signup fee. |
| Duration | 36 months | From the referred creator's registration date. Long enough for a successful referral to compound meaningfully. |
| Cap per referred creator | $50,000 | Rarely reached, but it caps the upside on an outlier referral. Most summaries omit this. |
| Platform fee on commission | None | Referral commission is described as not subject to platform fees. |
| Clawback | Yes | Refunds and chargebacks on the referred creator's transactions reduce your commission correspondingly. |
Fanvue creator referral and affiliate policy, read 24 August 2026.
Fanvue has also run limited-time referral bonus campaigns during 2026, announced on its own blog and not in the legal terms. One offered a $500 bonus for a referred creator reaching $500 of earnings in their first 30 days, on top of the standard commission. Campaigns are not terms: they are announced, they end, and they sit outside the document the rest of this page is built on. Treat them as upside, and check whether one is actually running before you promote it.
Creator affiliate programme, which is a different thing
Easy to confuse with the referral programme, and structurally unrelated. The affiliate programme lets a creator promote another creator's profile through a unique link and earn commission on qualifying fan payments from referred fans. Published terms describe acting as an affiliate for up to five promoted creators at once.
- Referral programme
- You bring a new creator to the platform. You earn a share of what they earn, for 36 months.
- Affiliate programme
- You bring fans to another creator's profile. You earn on qualifying fan payments. Limited to five promoted creators concurrently.
What to verify yourself
Check these on your own account, not in an article
The commission percentage actually applied to your last payout
Divide banked by gross for one full month. That number is the truth.
The real time between earning and availability
Note the dates on your first two payouts instead of trusting the stated period.
Whether your payout method adds fees at its own end
The platform charging nothing does not mean the rail is free.
Currency of payout versus currency of your bank account
The conversion spread is invisible on the platform and visible in your statement.
Current referral terms before you promote them
Caps and durations change. Promoting stale terms damages your credibility, not Fanvue's.
Is the 28-day period a hold on all earnings or just new ones?
Read it as applying to earnings as they are processed. The practical planning assumption is that money earned this month is available next month. Confirm the exact behaviour on your own first two payout cycles, because that is the only account that matters for your cash flow.
Does referral commission come out of the referred creator's earnings?
The published terms describe the commission as credited to the referring user's balance and not subject to platform fees. It does not present as a deduction from the referred creator. If you are recruiting creators, do not tell them it costs them nothing without checking the current terms yourself.
Can I refer myself or a second account?
No, and attempting it is a straightforward terms breach that risks both accounts. The programme is worth more to you intact than the one-off gain from abusing it.
Where these numbers come from
Every figure on this page is quoted from Fanvue's published legal pages or from Sacra's company profile, each linked. Terms change; the verification date at the top of this page is the date we last read the source rather than the date we last edited the text.

Who wrote this
AIOF Editorial DeskResearch & editorial
AIOF is an editorial desk that works from primary sources: platform terms, vendor pricing pages and published company data, read and dated rather than repeated from other write-ups. Where a figure comes from someone else we cite it and grade it. Where we have not measured something ourselves we say so, which today is most of the places you might expect a first-hand number.
- Works from primary platform documents, with the date each page was last checked published on the page itself
- Grades every figure as sourced, third-party estimate, modelled or measured, and labels which
- Publishes no first-party measured benchmarks yet, and says so on the methodology page rather than implying otherwise
- Corrections are made in place with a dated changelog entry, listed on the updates page
